Qatar is a nation whose industry and culture have developed along its coast. The pavilion architecture is shaped in the image of traditional, wooden dhow boats. Based on the concepts of “wind-filled sails,” “a series of arches evoking Islamic culture,” and “reflections on the water,” the lighting design 3-dimensionally illuminates the pavilion membranes and wooden boxes. Inside, exhibition lighting is fused with spatial feature lighting, including particular materials used for the luminous walls and ceiling. The design is laid out in a sequence along the exhibition route.
