The “EXPO 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo” will finally open on April 13th. The “OSAKA Healthcare Pavilion (Nest for Reborn),” an exhibit by Osaka Prefectural and City Governments, has been completed.
This pavilion is characterized by its transparent architecture, which presents different expressions during the day and night. The circulating water flowing over the distinctive membrane roof cascades into the water basin. Warmly, hinoki wood is used for the interior space, and lighting is designed to enhance each element.
The atrium space also offers varying impressions depending on the time of day. The colour temperature of the lighting is automatically gradually changed throughout the day, transforming the space from morning to night. At night, the space transitions to warm colour lighting, highlighting the building’s structure and turning it into a lighting object. The continuous spaces connected by line lights incorporated into the architectural details and the lighting environment that encourages circulation provide comfort and beauty for the space. In particular, the double spiral staircase and the illuminated roof create an impressive night view within the atrium space.
